Project: ARF - Assisted Return to Foreigners II

The project aims to: promote in Lithuania staying third-country nationals or stateless persons, ensuring their safe and dignified return to their country of origin and to increase awareness of the program by reducing the scale of illegal migration in Lithuania.

 

Project Description: The project is intended for any third-country nationals or stateless persons who use any form of protection in Lithuania, e.g. both refugees and those who have submitted applications for any form of protection, but has not received a final negative decision on their application. It is also meant for third-country nationals staying in Lithuania without legal basis who, without leaving country on a set date should be expelled from the Republic of Lithuania. During implementation of voluntary return operations third country nationals will be safely returned to their country of origin. Before departure, they will be given assistance most appropriate to their individual needs.

 

Project activities are provided for the information measure will ensure program awareness and positive attitude of AVR among the public institutions involved in the voluntary return process, and what is the most important among the target group, and help third-country nationals decide to return to their country of origin.

 

 

   

Project: Reintegration to Homeland

Project duration: 2016.10.14 - 2018.10.13

 

The project aims to: The project will be implemented in parallel with projects on assisted voluntary return. This project will ensure safe and dignified migrant return to their home countries, where reintegration activities will take place. In the framework of assisted voluntary return project,   counselling, migrant need and vulnerability identification will be conducted – this will serve as a basis for recognizing migrant reintegration needs and opportunities as well as establishing support and follow-up mechanisms to facilitate reintegration in the countries of origin.

 

Project Description: The overall objective of the project is to facilitate the sustainability of assisted voluntary returns from Lithuania by assisting returnees in reintegrating themselves in their countries of origin. By addressing the key factors that compel people to emigrate, reintegration assistance provided with the framework of the project is expected to minimize the possibility of the returnees’ repeated illegal and/or unsuccessful migration. IOM Vilnius is submitting the present project proposal. The project will last for 2 years and will help 20 returnees in reintegration process.
